"The Hurt Locker" dan film tiga dimensi "Avatar" merajai nominasi penghargaan tahunan ke-82 Piala Oscar 2010, seperti yang diumumkan Academy of Motion Picture Arts, Selasa (2/2).

Kedua film itu sama-sama meraih sembilan nominasi termasuk untuk film terbaik dan sutradara terbaik.

Sementara itu, film dari Argentina, Israel, Peru, Prancis dan Jerman, akan berebut Oscar sebagai film terbaik berbahasa asing.

James Cameron melalui "Avatar" dan Kathryn Bigelow di "The Hurt Locker" diunggulkan sebagai sutradara terbaik dan akan bersaing dengan Quentin Tarantino ("Inglorious Basterds"), Lee Daniels ("Precious: Based on the Novel `Push` by Sapphire") serta Jason Reitnman ("Up in the Air").

Inglorious Basterds besutan Quentin Tarantino, tahun ini meraih delapan nominasi, termasuk untuk kategori pemeran pembantu terbaik melalui Christopher Waltz.

Selain di nomor sutradara terbaik, "Avatar" dan "The Hurt Locker" sama-sama menjadi nomine bagi yang terbaik pada kategori cinematography; film editing; sound editing; sound mixing; dan music original score.

"The Hurt Locker" juga menempatkan Jeremy Renner sebagai calon penerima Oscar sebagai aktor terbaik.

Ia diunggulkan bersama bintang yang terkenal melalui film seri "ER", George Clooney, Morgan Freeman pada "Invictus", Jeff Bridges di "Crazy Heart", serta Colin Firth ("A Single Man").

Untuk nominasi pemeran utama perempuan terbaik, Sandra Bullock ("The Blind Side") akan menghadapi aktris kawakan Meryl Streep ("Julie & Julia).

Keduanya akan berebut tempat dengan Hellen Mirren ("The Last Station"), Carey Mulligan ("An Education") dan Gabourey Sidibe ("Precious: Based on the Novel `Push` by Sapphire").

Argentina, Israel, Peru, Perancis dan Jerman tahun ini mewakili negara asing yang produksi filmnya meraih nominasi untuk Piala Oscar.

Argentina diwakili oleh film "El Secreto de Sus Ojos", Israel oleh "Ajami", Peru oleh "The Milk of Sorrow", Perancis oleh "Un Prophete" dan Jerman oleh "The White Ribbon".

Para pemenang kategori untuk "82nd Annual Academy Awards" itu akan diumumkan pada acara penyerahan Piala Oscar 2010 pada 7 Maret mendatang.

Acara akan berlangsung di Kodak Theatre-Hollywood, dipandu oleh aktor Alec Baldwin serta aktor komedi Steve Martin, dan akan disiarkan secara langsung oleh jaringan televisi ABC.
